Urgent security update
Bad news. A major vulnerability, known as “Heartbleed,” has been disclosed for the technology that powers encryption across the majority of the internet. That includes Tumblr.
We have no evidence of any breach and, like most networks, our team took immediate action to fix the issue.

CultureTRIBUTE: BRAD PITT 50th Birthday
To my mind, Pitt is the Robert Redford of his generation (to Clooney’s Newman). A man so classically handsome that it’s been more of a detriment than a compliment to his career. I’ve always thought that Pitt had the skills of an actor and the face of a movie star. His film choices have always fascinated me because of his wariness to use his physical appearance and to rely more heavily on character-driven action/dramas.
Perhaps that’s because his first major leading role in LEGENDS OF THE FALL turned him into a megastar and the media attention became too much. Following that film, most of his roles shied away from romances (SEVEN, 12 MONKEYS, 7 YEARS IN TIBET, SLEEPERS, SNATCH) and it wasn’t until FIGHT CLUB that he leaned on his physical appearance for a role. And what a performance it was too. In recent years, he’s done some of his best work and he’s branched out into charitable causes and architectural design. He also started his own production company PLAN B.
It is the latter achievement that produced the year’s most important piece of cinema, 12 YEARS A SLAVE. A truly brave undertaking and there are only about five people in Hollywood with the clout to get this movie made in such an uncompromising way. Thankfully, Brad Pitt is one of them. For that alone, he’ll always hold a special place and I’ll always be grateful.
Oh, did I mention that as he gets older he gets hotter? Yeah, that too.
